Getting started

  1. Navilu is not in the Shopify App Store yet. Write to support@navilulabs.com and we send you a link that adds Navilu to your store.
  2. Open Navilu in your Shopify admin. It asks “What do you want more of?”. Pick one and answer what it asks: it may ask for two numbers and what to change. Then press Make my test.
  3. The next screen has three steps. The first, “Switch Navilu on in your theme”, has the Open Shopify theme editor button: click it, turn on Navilu, and click Save. The step ticks itself once a shopper who allows cookies visits. To check it yourself, open your store in a private window and accept cookies if it asks. If you pressed “Skip, show me the usual page” on the first screen instead, the same button is in the card “Your first test” at the top of the Tests page.
  4. Press Start the test, the last of the three steps. Navilu hides the results for the first days, because early numbers are mostly luck.
  5. For your next test, click New test in the menu. Pick the pages and what to change, for example a product title. The box "How long will it take?" tells you how many days the test needs.

Common questions

What is a test? Half of your shoppers see your store as it is, the other half see one change. Nobody sees both. Navilu counts who buys, and tells you which version sells more once it is sure.

Why are my results hidden? Early numbers on a small store are mostly luck. Navilu shows them after seven days and once each version has enough visitors, so a lucky weekend cannot look like a result.

Why can't I pick the winner myself, early? Because a winner picked too early is often luck, and keeping it can cost you sales. "Use the winner" turns on only when Navilu is sure.

What happens when I use the winner? Navilu keeps showing the winning version to every shopper until you make the same change in your theme and tell Navilu to stop.

Does it slow my store? The script is about 10 KB compressed, loads before the page paints, and never waits on the network.

How does Navilu know how long a test takes? It assumes your change makes at least 20% more people buy. Smaller changes take longer, or end without a winner. If a test is unlikely to finish in time, Navilu tells you before you start.

Who is counted? Only shoppers who allow cookies: where your store asks, those who said yes. Shoppers who say no, or have not answered yet, see your store as it is and are not counted. A shopper joins a test from their second page, so you will not see a change on the first page you open. The privacy policy has the details.

How is profit calculated? Revenue is the order subtotal after discounts, before shipping and tax, from Shopify's order. Cost is the price you paid for each item, entered on each product in Shopify, plus any shipping discount the order got, since that shipping is yours to pay. If an item has no cost set, the results say so, because profit for those orders is overstated.

Checking a test you ran elsewhere

Ran a test with another tool, an agency or a theme change? Enter its final visitors and orders on Check a test result. Navilu tells you whether its winner is real or could be luck, even if the test was checked every day, and what a simpler check would have said. It stores nothing you enter. Inside the app it is Check a test result in the menu.

Connect your AI assistant

You can ask your own AI assistant (any app that supports MCP) about your tests. In your assistant, add a new connector and paste the address shown in Navilu's Settings under "Use Navilu from your AI assistant". Your assistant opens a Navilu page: type your store address, sign in with Shopify, and say yes. That is all. Settings lists every connected assistant with a Remove button.

Does your assistant ask for a token instead? In Settings, under "Use Navilu from your AI assistant", the end of the card asks "Does your assistant ask for a token instead?": press Create a token there and copy it once. In your assistant, add an MCP server with the same address (Streamable HTTP) and the header Authorization: Bearer <your token>.

The assistant can list your tests, read results and the verdict once Navilu has unlocked them, run the forecast, read a page of your store, and create a draft test for you to review, including one that changes a page. Navilu checks every page change the same way it checks its own, and nothing shows on your store until you start the test. It cannot start, pause or end a test, cannot declare or ship a winner, cannot change your store, and sees no customer, order or visitor data. Navilu sends nothing to an AI provider for this; the assistant is yours, under its own terms. To disconnect, press Disconnect in Settings; the token stops working at once.

Uninstalling

Remove the app from your Shopify admin. Your theme is untouched; if a winner was being served, make that change in your theme first.
